Farewell Summer (in 3 days time)!

3 more days to the end of summer, no wonder the shops are all stocked up with winter gear and here we are still battling with sunny humid days of 30C! Oh dear!

Time seems to pass quicker living in a country with 4 seasons, in my opinion that is. The subtle chill in the morning breeze, the display shelves in shops stocked up with new winter linen, the need for the handy umbrella everyday (continuous rain during this week signals a change in the season), etc etc.

Perhaps next weekend (weather permitting), I should air my freshly laundered cotton blanket on the line and lay it down on my bed ready for use. I love the change in season and hopefully, it will be cooler very soon.

Farewell Summer (don't come back too soon) for I will not miss you.

oh mags, u lucky girl.. i love winter, i enjoyed it so much when i was living in canberra, which have one of the coldest winters in australia!!! maybe it's because i've always lived in a 'tropical' climate, the 4-seasons (esp the spring, autumn & winter!!) were such a lovely welcome :) i can still remember freezing in my bed when the silly heater wasn't working very well...but amidst all that freezing, i was loving it!!

i wish you a lovely winter to come!! :)

You know, you could be shot for saying that summer is not welcomed. You can come here and take some snow away from us. Give me the sun! I am soon going to start worshipping the sun! Winter makes people cranky and very very unfriendly here. No wonder the vikings travelled and plundered. They were a bunch of people sick and tired of the cold and snow!

like they always say, the grass is always greener on the other side. so while you envy our sun, we'll continue to envy your snow. works both ways and makes everyone happy!

Well, not a single S'porean would envy me if they lived here. Its about a meter of snow here. Try doing some snow shovelling and you know what I mean. I am forbidden by my boss to go skiing for those who wants to see the brighter side of things as I probably end up breaking both legs.

Sue - I can only imagine how depressing it must be to live in a country that has long periods of grey skies, where one has to rug up with countless layers to keep warm, endless snow to shovel, etc etc and your entry has further emphasised the current mental state that you are in i.e. utter frustration.

You are experiencing the extremities of cold and we, on the other hand the extremities of the tropical heat.

Since the cold weather is dragging you down, then perhaps you and the family might want to consider moving elsewhere because it is evidently doing you no favours.

A little humour and consideration of others opinion without "putting them down" will go a long way.

The 'official' amount of snow is 70cm. Personally its more if you ask me. Ken took some pictures that he will put on Ken Daniel's blog so you can see what I mean :-)
